Brian Cox Believes Logan Roy's Death Came Too Soon

Succession Star Shares Thoughts on Character's Demise

Exclusive Interview Reveals Actor's Perspective

In a recent interview, Brian Cox, who portrays the ruthless media mogul Logan Roy in the hit HBO series "Succession," expressed his belief that his character's death came too early in the show's final season.

In a shocking twist, Logan Roy met his demise by collapsing in the toilet of a private jet in this week's episode. Cox, who has been a mainstay in the series since its inception, admitted that he was surprised by the decision to kill off his character so abruptly.

"I didn't see it coming," Cox said. "I thought I would have at least one more season, if not two. I think Logan Roy is a fascinating character, and there was so much more that could have been explored."

Cox acknowledged that Logan Roy's death had been foreshadowed throughout the series, but he believed that the showrunners rushed his demise. "I think the writers wanted to make a statement with his death," Cox said. "But I think it was a bit of a cheat. The audience didn't get to see Logan Roy's true reckoning."

Despite his reservations about the timing of Logan Roy's death, Cox said he remains immensely proud of his portrayal of the character. "I've loved playing Logan Roy," he said. "He's a complex and flawed individual, but I've always found him to be sympathetic. I think he's a tragic figure in many ways."

With Logan Roy's death, the future of "Succession" remains uncertain. Cox said he is confident that the show will continue to be successful, but he believes that his character's absence will be felt deeply. "Logan Roy is the heart and soul of the show," Cox said. "Without him, it's going to be a different beast."
