The longlist for the Booker Prize 2024, the leading literary award in the English-speaking world, will be announced on Tuesday 30 July 2024 at 2pm BST.
The International Booker Prize is awarded annually to a single work of fiction that has been translated into English and published in the United Kingdom or Ireland. The prize is open to works by authors of any nationality, writing in any language.
The 2024 shortlist was selected by a panel of five judges:
- Merve Emre (Chair)
- Petina Gappah
- Valeria Luiselli
- Sharon Dodua Otoo
- Andreï Makine
The judges read a total of 135 books, submitted by publishers from around the world. The shortlist of six books was announced on 21 May 2024.
The winner of the International Booker Prize 2024 will be announced on 21 May 2024.
